Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Passport Privé collects, how it's used, and your choices. By using this website or The Passport Privé Edit, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account on The Passport Privé Edit (edit.passportprive.com), we collect:

• Your name and email address
• Your account password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication — we never see it in plain text)
• The date you joined and when you last logged in
• Any trip itineraries assigned to your account
• Your newsletter subscription preference, if you opted in at sign-up

When you submit an inquiry through the contact form on passportprive.com, we collect your name, email address, and message content.

We also collect standard usage data automatically — such as your browser type, pages visited, and approximate location — through standard web analytics. This data is not linked to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide access to The Passport Privé Edit and your trip itineraries
• To respond to your travel inquiries
• To send you the Passport Privé Substack newsletter, if you opted in
• To improve the site and your experience

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

3. How We Store Your Data

Account information is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), which is a secure, encrypted cloud database service. Inquiry form submissions may be stored in Google Sheets via a private Google Apps Script.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

This site uses browser local storage (not cookies) to remember whether you've dismissed the newsletter prompt on passportprive.com, so it doesn't reappear on every visit. The Passport Privé Edit uses Firebase's built-in session persistence to keep you logged in across visits. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

5. Your Choices

• Newsletter: You can unsubscribe from the Passport Privé Substack at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
• Your account: You can update your name, email, and password from your profile page. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data from that same page.
• Data requests: To request a copy of your data or ask questions about how it's used, email paula@passportprive.com or paula@pinpointstravel.com.

6. Third-Party Services

This site integrates with the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — authentication and database storage
• Substack — newsletter platform at passportprive.substack.com
• Netlify — website hosting

7. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
